What we collect

Aaj Ka Rate is a rate tracker, not a social app. We don’t ask for an account, we don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we don’t sell your information.

• Local preferences only. The app stores your language, dark/light appearance, and notification choices on your own device using Hive, a local database. These preferences stay on the device.
• Market rates, not you. The app fetches public market data — USD/PKR, gold, and fuel prices — from a public JSON endpoint. That endpoint receives a standard HTTP request, the same kind any browser or news app makes. It does not receive your name, email, device ID, or location.
• No personal info required. You can use the full app without giving us any personal information.

Notifications

If you opt in, the app can send local notifications for daily rate updates and for fuel or gold rate changes. These notifications are generated on your device from the data it already fetched — they are not pushed to us, and we don’t send them from a server.

You can enable or disable notifications at any time in Settings, and the app asks for notification permission before turning them on.

Advertisements

Aaj Ka Rate shows advertising through AdMob, Google’s mobile advertising platform. Ads help keep the app free.

• Ads are displayed by Google, not by us directly. Google’s use of personal data for ads is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• The app does not build a profile of you for advertising purposes and does not use advertising identifiers for tracking across apps.
• You can limit ad tracking through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising; Android: Advertising options in Settings).

If you want the app to remain useful without ads, that is one of the reasons we keep the rate data and feature set lean and costs low — the app is designed to be inexpensive to run so the free tier stays sustainable.

Data sources

The app displays rates from public sources:

• USD/PKR — exchangerate-api.com (free, no key required).
• Gold — Karachi Sarafa Market public rates.
• Fuel — OGRA notified prices, as published by public sources.
• Inflation (CPI) — State Bank of Pakistan data portal.
• Forex reserves — State Bank of Pakistan.

Rates are informational. They update periodically from public market sources and are cached on your device. Always verify against official sources before making a financial decision.

Children

Aaj Ka Rate is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page with an updated date. The current version is effective as of the date shown below.
